As well as printmaking and illustration, I love working with other small businesses to develop their brand identity.
At the front of every great business is an instantly recognisable logo, something which represents you and your entire business identity. Perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of taking that leap into the unknown and setting up your own business venture is being able to hold up your own logo and say “that’s mine!”
Using the business itself as inspiration, I start the process by sketching up some initial design ideas; whether it’s a specific product they make, a tool or instrument they use, or an image representative of their work, each image is individually created and personalised to that specific business. Once the client is happy with the artwork it’s then a case of taking the rough sketch and transforming it into a final design and inputting it into digital software to make the logo compatible for a wealth of uses. The final stage is choosing a colour scheme — something which is arguably as important as the logo image itself, as your colour scheme can be as much an identifier of your brand as your business name.
‘Timeless’, ‘classic’ and ‘minimal’ are the three guiding principles behind every logo I design. Following a client’s brief, I pair a minimal and classic colour scheme with a timeless piece of original artwork, which makes for an instantly recognisable logo that provides a clear and concise business brand identity that is instantly recognisable and most importantly, memorable.
If you’re considering a new business venture, or a new brand identity for an existing business, then do not hesitate to get in touch.
